21 Reasons Why Jewellery Items Are The Best Gift Choice

21 Reasons Why Jewellery Items Are The Best Gift Choice... Ever Ever!

Here are the Top 21 reasons why Jewellery truely is the best gift choice, for almost any event. I have taken into account other gifts such as books, clothes, bags, make-up and perfumes and household items such as picture frames, vases etc. The only other gift to top jewellery is surprise holidays... Oh yes pleeeease!

So the pros for the above list of gifts is the fact that they can be lovely and enduring, obviously the choice is endless and they are all appreciated by the individual recieving the gift, especially if you know their choices and preferences. However most of these items you will eventually throw away, as they grow old and tatty, or you have grown out of them. Clothes go in and out of fashion, beauty products are also prone to going off and having a limited shelf life. Perfumes - what smells good on your mate might not smell so great on you, and most of us go through phases where we like a fragrance for a while and then find something else we prefer. Books, picture frames and household items are the kind of gifts you give to someone if you don't know then too well, a kind of last option gift or a less personal item.

So here goes 21 reasons why jewellery is the best gift option:
  1. There are millions of styles and colours. You will never lack choice when purchasing diamond jewellery, designer watches, unique gemstone jewellery, luxury engagement rings or any other type of jewellery.
  2. Long life - no shelf life - Jewellery if looked after well, cared for, cleaned regularly and stored in appropriate jewellery storage such as jewellery boxes or jewellery rolls will not go off or loose its lustre and shine.
  3. Jewellery can be passed on to loved ones, even inexpensive jewellery is appreciated and can be worn and adored by a completely new crowd of jewellery admirers. Expensive jewellery naturally become heirlooms and retain or increase value over time.
  4. Gold, diamonds and platinum, for example retain and even increase in value over time. Recently the cost of silver is increasing considerably making most jewellery worth purchasing.
  5. Jewellery can be purchased at any budget range from a few £ for small charms to hundreds of thousands for unique gemstones and individual one-off peices.
  6. There are numerous variations, in other words, jewellery is not just 1 million different types of necklace. Jewellery is anything that adorns the body, ranging from anklets for the ankles to tikka's for the head.
  7. Children are given silver jewellery when they are young to bring cool and comfort to them. In India this metal is linked with the cooling healing properties of the moon.
  8. The gemstones used in jewellery are believed to have healing, restorative and prosperity producing effects. This is particularly true in the Hindu culture where gemstones are worn to improve the chances of finding a partner, business and financial abundance and spiritual growth.
  9. You can personalise items for the person you are buying it for in terms of items, i.e. ring or watch or pendant.
  10. You can personalise jewellery in terms of first letter of names, birthstones and zodiac jewellery.
  11. You can personalise jewellery in terms of the event or celebration that is being honoured, for example what you would give on Valentine's Day would be different for a birthday and different for Mother's Day, but the individual would be the same.
  12. Jewellery is traditionally associated with prosperity, joy and pleasure.
  13. Jewellery is used in ancient cultures during happy occassions, and this tradition still exists for example in weddings and the giving of wedding rings and engagement rings.
  14. There are numerous materials that can be used for jewellery, creating a multitude of options and choices, for even the most discerning jewellery lover.
  15. Jewellery is often used as a reminder of our faith, Crosses, Oms and Buddha and new age jewellery for example, allowing us to show that we have a spiritual hertiage in an understated yet obvious manner.
  16. Jewellery is used to improve concentration, meditation and spiritual depth through prayer beads and malas.
  17. Jewellery is not just for women, men and children also enjoy jewellery.
  18. You can build on a jewellery collection, or start building an impressive diamond jewellery collection that can be passed on to your loved ones.
  19. If you are on hard times jewellery can be sold to help you out. This is the original thinking behind giving daughters lots of jewellery as part of their dowry in older cultures. Should a financial issue arise their would always be a manner in which jewellery could be sold or held until finances improve.
  20. Jewellery is always appreciated as you are seen to have gone for that little something more and if you have selected well, according to the likes and dislikes of the person you have brought the gift for, the effort you have put in will be applauded.
  21. And finally bling is bling and all that sparkles, sparkles and who does not like a bit of sparkle.

March Birthstone gifts

Birthday in March,
Check out these fabulous Aquamarine, Amethyst and Pisces Jewellery.

March Birthstone and Zodiac Jewellery
Birthstone Gemstone for March - Aquamarine
Traditionally each month has an associated zodiac sign and a birthstone. In March the generally accepted birthstone is Aquamarine and the zodiac sign from February 19th to March 20th  is Pisces, from March 21st to April 19th the zodiac sign is Aries.
A nice way to celebrate a birthday is a piece of jewellery that is associated with the birthstone or zodiac sign. This can be in gemstones in the jewellery items or using charms with Pisces images depicted on it.
Pisces is the fish sign in the zodiac and the name Aquamarine is connected with water. This is a beautiful, glassy stone that brings luck mainly for people born under the sign of Pisces. The green and blue aquamarines harmonise the Piscean neural system. Some people suggest that Amethyst is the birthstone of March and this would be true if you were born in the earlier part of February.  Having said that if you prefer the amethyst stone either purple amethyst or green amethyst, there is no reason why you can't wear or buy these as a birthday gift.
Aquamarine is said to provide insight, courage and happiness. It also ensures long and successful marriage so a good idea could be an aquamarine engagement ring.  Aquamarine clears the mind and stimulates new ideas, helps to keep emotional balance, so it is precisely good for Pisces in critical moments of life.
A Poem for the aquamarine stone and March

A March born shall always be
Soothed by Aqua, gem of sea
This mermaid's treasured stone you wear
Will bring happiness, love, affection and care

Pisces
Pisces is the twelfth, final sign of the Zodiac cycle and is ruled by planets Jupiter and Neptune. Pisces is the natural sign of the Twelfth House.
Pisceans are the most humble and reserved of allZodiac signs. The sign of Pisces is a pair of Fish, this relates to their nature of going with the flow. Being a pair it also hints to the fact that this sign is can be quite dual in nature, and it can be confusing for people who do not know then that well.
Piscean jewellery comes in many forms we have charms and pendants and a huge range of both aquamarine jewellery and amethyst jewellery. You may alternate between these 3 gifts as they are all representative of the jewellery typically purchased in March.

Mothering Sunday Vs Mother's Day

Do you know the difference between the two?

Mothering Sunday is a mainly European celebration and Mother's Day is a US import. See how these merged into one Mother's Day in our Mothering Sunday and Mother's Day blog.

Jewellery is a wonderful gift for mum on Mother's Day and a great way to say Thanks for all that she does for you throughout the year. If you are a Mum yourself and your Mum helps you out with the kids then you know how precious these ladies are to us.  The best way to show you care is to really let your Mother's put their feet up, no cooking or cleaning for them that day, this is not always possible as we do lead our own lives and with the busy busy rush rush of our day to day activities we can often overlook those who mean most to us. If you can't be around to do the chores for her, send her away to a spa break, choose from a half day, a full day, overnight or a few days of complete rest and relaxation.

Some popular jewellery items are pearls and bracelets or even jewellery sets. If you mum prefers flowers we have a great selection of these to choose from as well.

Find the perfect gift Mother's Day Gift for your wonderful hard-working and loving Mum's, where would we be without them. I know I would be completely lost, my Mum is really the best in the world, no really she is...

Mother's Day/Mothering Sunday this year is March 18th 2012.

Smart wives with young children send this post to your hubby's as a hint!
